Bringing the Beach to the Bed

Low pressure systems and loads of snow have unabashedly defined winter thus far. Sure, some of you may dig that frozen toe effect when you step out of the door on your way to work. And shucks, even I'm partial to a snow angel here and there, but the cold has crept into every corner of every room just about anywhere north of the equator. If you're not lucky enough to have the folks bankroll a four month holiday in South America right about now, well, you're in the same cold boat as the rest of us. But fear not good reader because it's photos like these that give us hope for a brighter tomorrow, and a hot summer ahead hopefully chock full of sandy toes and cold Corona's at sunset. And, it's just another reason why truck beds rock harder than Neil Young hitting the high note on the harmonica.

An Abandoned Truck Bed

Abandoned_Truckbed
OK. We just don’t get it. An abandoned truck bed in the middle of Nowheresville, Illinois right by a set of train tracks. The question is, ‘Why?’ It’s obviously what makes a truck, well, a truck. And more importantly, what happened to its better half. Did the owner try and delve into a little vicious magic time and think sawing his ride in two would be a good illusory trick? Was this just an act of sheer depravity? Wait. Ah yes, somebody probably lost a bet and had to amputate their ride, but the real specifics remain unknown. What gets our gander here is the fact that this truck bed is still in relatively good condition. No real rust through and it could’ve continued to serve a hauling purpose. Plus, that fire engine red paint job has a newer, glossier finish. What this person was thinking we’ll never know. Sound the taps for this fallen loader.

Jacuzzi Pickup

We understand needing to relax. We even understand the need for guy-bonding. But, what we can't understand is why these two have transformed this perfectly vicious pickup into a mobile-jacuzzi. They've got their beers in koozies, and they look pretty relaxed—but this can't be good for the truck bed. I guess we should just be happy they didn't try to fit in the bathtub together.

Have you seen other truck owners do unorthodox things to or in their truckbeds? If so, tell us about it!

Holy Truck Bed Batman!

You've seen custom truck beds, customized with large stereos, impressive TVs and even hottubs. But have you seen a truck bed with so much random crap in it, you stop and take a picture? That's what we did yesterday. Let's start by saing this is not the first time we've seen this truck with these exact objects posed in the same way.

Contents:

First, the VitaRain water - Are you really planning on drinking this? It's been baking in the sun, and I'm almost positive there's somesort of study that says when a waterbottle gets to hot the palstic loses hazardous material into the drinking water.

Tiny pink lawn chair - I can only assume this truck driver is not a 8 year old girl, but why only one chair? Don't you need to sit with your child?

Tire - You're trying to be prepared for a flat. But, right now it's serving no other purpose than an extra large cup holder.

Drink in tire - How old is this? Saving it incase you get thirsty at the tailgate? C'mon man, there's these great inventions they're called trashcans.

Mermaid - Look closely in the right hand corner (next to the tire). Yep, you see it. That pink fin belond to a mermaid doll. Again, we assume you have a little girl...Let us rephrase, we hope you have a little girl.

Upon first glance, I totally thought this was a jacuzzi in the back. Although the sleek sloping design is awesome, I still wish it was a hottub on wheels.

Intense screens. Silver metallic makes for a clean cut and expensive looking finish.

Built in turn-table—it's a DJ on wheels. Notice the BabyPhat logo.
